PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sensor and a sensor chip which can be easily manufactured and with which the low cost and the high accuracy can be achieved.SOLUTION: A light generating element is of a surface light generating type which generates emission light in a normal direction of an insulation substrate. A light receiving element is of a front surface incident type which receives scattered light from a horizontal direction with respect to a surface of the insulation substrate at a front surface. A cap is further provided with a light path conversion element which converts the direction of the emission light of the light generating element into the horizontal direction with respect to the surface of the insulation substrate. A first opening of the cap exists in an optical path direction converted by the light path conversion element of the cap with respect to the emission light of the light generating element.
