THE PRESENT INVENTION DISCLOSES A POLYMER BATTERY USING POLYMER ELECTRODES CONTAINING A PROTON CONDUCTING CONDUCTIVE COMPOUND AS AN ACTIVE POLYMER IN WHICH PROTONS ARE EXCLUSIVELY INVOLVED IN CHARGE AND DISCHARGE. ACCORDINGLY, THE PROTON POLYMER BATTERY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION COMPRISES AN ANODE DISC (3) WHICH IS FORMED ON AN ANODE COLLECTOR (4) A CATHODE DISC (2) WHICH IS FORMED ON A CATHODE COLLECTOR (1) AN INERT MEMBRANE SEPARATOR (5) WHICH HAS ACID/BASE RESISTANCE, OXIDATION RESISTANCE AND DOES NOT HAVE A CATION/ANION FUNCTIONAL GROUP AND A NON-AQUEOUS ELECTROLYTIC SOLUTION (8). THE ANODE (3) AND CATHODE (2) ARE ORIENTED SUCH THAT THEY ARE FACING EACH OTHER VIA A SEPARATOR DISC (5). THE ELECTRODE ACTIVE MATERIAL IN THE ANODE (3) AND CATHODE (2) ARE SELECTED FROM π-CONJUGATED POLYMERS AND HYDROXYL-CONTAINING POLYMERS. FIGURE 1
