A microneedle array having performance that can be used in place of a syringe is provided. In a microneedle array in which a plurality of tapered microneedles made of resin 10 are dispersedly arranged on a pedestal 11, part of the side surfaces of the microneedles 10 are defined as outer surfaces 12 and 13, and the tips are non-flat. Alternatively, a plurality of flat puncture portions 14 and 15 are provided, and are surrounded by inner side surfaces 16 and 17 of the respective puncture portions 14 and 15 so as to open forward and sideward along the axis of the microneedle 10. A storage portion 19 capable of holding a medicine is formed, and the height of the puncture portion 15 is higher than the height of the puncture portion 14. Here, it is preferable that the maximum difference between the heights of the puncture units 14 and 15 is in the range of 0.01 to 0.4 of the height of the puncture unit 15 having the highest height.
