Provided is a thermal moxibustion device which is capable of administering to a user thermotherapy that is similar to thermotherapy using moxa which is traditionally widely known. A thermal moxibustion device (1) comprises a heating element (2) which generates heat by irradiation of microwaves, a bottomed cylindrical container (3) which houses the heating element (2), and a cylindrical cover (4) which is attached to the container (3) such that at least a portion of a bottom part (40) thereof is able to abut and be detached from the heating element (2). The cover (4) is slidably attached to the container (3) in an axial direction so as to move between an abutting position at which the bottom part (40) abuts the heating element (2) and a detached position at which a space (42) is formed between the bottom part (40) and the heating element (2). On one of the container (3) and cover (4), concavities (44, 45) are formed in a position that corresponds to the abutting position and detached position, and on the other a convexity (38) is formed which engages and disengages the concavities (44, 45).
