PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flowerpot by which coffee grounds are used as they are and which requires addition of no fertilizer without the coffee grounds, and to provide a method for producing the flowerpot. SOLUTION: The flowerpot has an external part 1 having a draining hole at the bottom face 11, a fertilizer layer part 2 detachably fitted in the inside, and a hollow storing part 21 formed in the inside of the fertilizer layer part 2. The upper part of the storing part is opened, and the lower part of the storing part is communicated with the draining hole. The fertilizer layer part includes the coffee grounds and sawdust, and is stuck by an adhesive consisting essentially of a starch. The method for producing the flowerpot comprises mixing the coffee grounds with the sawdust, kneading the mixture with water and starch paste, drying and solidifying the kneaded product in a mold with a prescribed shape to provide the fertilizer layer part, and housing the fertilizer layer part in the external part.
