PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation-sensitive resin composition which sufficiently satisfies general characteristics required for a radiation-sensitive resin composition such as radiosensitivity, has excellent storage stability and can reduce adhesive failures of a cured film, and further to provide a cured film formed from the radiation-sensitive resin composition and a method for forming the same, and a display element provided with the cured film.SOLUTION: There is provided a radiation-sensitive resin composition which comprises: a polymer component containing a first structural unit having an acid-dissociable group and a second structural unit having a crosslinkable group; a nonionic photoacid generator having a sulfonyl group; and an ionic compound represented by the following formula (1). In the following formula (1), Ris a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic group; -Ais -N-SO-R, -COO, -Oor -SO; Ris a linear, branched or cyclic monovalent hydrocarbon group; and Xis an onium cation.
