PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dentifrice composition containing an oil-soluble active ingredients, which is excellent in foaming upon toothbrushing, sustainability of the foam, creamy feeling of the foam and no foam sagging, has a high foam feeling, and is excellent in the oral retentivity of oil-soluble ingredients, and to provide a method for improving the foam performance of the dentifrice composition and the oral retentivity of the oil-soluble ingredients.SOLUTION: The dentifrice composition is obtained by blending a dentifrice composition containing one or more kinds of oil-soluble ingredients selected from vitamin E, its derivatives, triclosan and isopropyl methyl phenol with (A) xanthan gum of 1.4 to 2.5 mass% and (B) alkyl sulfate salt of 1.4 to 2.5 mass% in such a manner that the mass ratio of the (A)/(B) satisfies 0.7 to 1.5 and also with (C) an amphoteric surfactant.
