This utility model generally relates to foods and their preparation, specifically it pertains to the process of making a banana blossom siopao. The method of making the banana blossom siopao comprises the steps peeling off the bracts of the banana blossom, chopping the blossoms into small pieces, soaking the chopped blossoms in cold saltwater, straining the soaked blossoms, sauteing the banana blossoms with garlic and onions, cooking the banana blossoms with soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar until the blossoms soften, adding diluted cornstarch to the cooked banana blossoms to create the siopao filling, dissolving sugar and yeast in a bowl of warm water to form yeast solution, allowing the yeast to bloom, combining flour, yeast solution, and sugar in a mixing bowl to form a mixture, adding shortening and baking powder into the mixture, continually mixing to form a dough, kneading the dough until smooth, setting the dough aside to rise, re-kneading the dough, cutting the re-knead dough into slices, flattening sliced dough until round, placing siopao filling into center of sliced dough, wrapping the dough to form a round siopao, and cooking the siopao in a steamer.
