PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper which prevents leakage of body fluids from respective front and back ends of an absorber that has absorbed the body liquid such as urine and exerts the maximum absorption capability of the absorber.
SOLUTION: The diaper 1A includes a liquid permeable surface sheet 2, a liquid poorly-permeable back sheet 3, the absorber 4 provided between these sheets 2, 3, and a water-repellent barrier sheet 5 provided between the absorber 4 and the surface sheet 2. The barrier sheet 5 is longer than the width of the absorber 4, is provided to cover an end in the longitudinal direction (Y direction) of the absorber 4, is not fixed on the absorber 4 in a region of a pocket 50 to form the pocket 50 enclosing the end of the absorber 4, and is fixed on the back sheet 3 outside a peripheral edge 40 of the absorber 4.
