PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which prevents urine retained by its groin part during heavy urination from leaking when its three-dimensional gathers are flattened by the body as well as whose absorptive power is increased when it is actually used by effectively using the whole absorber.
SOLUTION: The absorber 23 is interposed between the inner surface of a liquid-impermeable back sheet 21 and a liquid-permeable top sheet 22. Two auxiliary gathers 28 are arranged in the upper part of the liquid-permeable top sheet 22 which is inside two barrier sheets 24 so that they may form two lines side by side and may follow grooves of buttocks. Two upper-layer slits 40 which are perpendicular to the two auxiliary gathers 28 respectively and are curbed toward sides from the middle are arranged in an upper-layer absorber 23U so that they may pass through the top and the underside of the upper-layer absorber 23U respectively.
