PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of reducing leakage of urine to outside.
SOLUTION: An absorber 3 made of a fiber aggregate is interposed between the inner surface of an impermeable back sheet 1 through which liquid does not permeate and a liquid-permeable top sheet 2 through which the liquid permeates. A pair of barrier cuffs 14 are disposed on the absorber 3 via the liquid-permeable top sheet 2 with the proximal end sides of the pair of the barrier cuffs 14 fixed to the liquid-permeable top sheet 2. A slender hydrophilic part 14a is formed in a part of each barrier cuff 14, and a slender outside recess 16 is formed in a part of the absorber 3 which can be covered by the hydrophilic part 14a. Two inside recesses 18 extending parallel to each other are formed in the longitudinal direction of the absorber 3 in a part of the absorber 3 inner than the parts covered by the pair of the barrier cuffs 14.
