PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anticancer agent having safe and excellent anticancer activity and producible by a simplified production process, and to provide a food and drink.
SOLUTION: The anticancer agent contains a cultured product obtained by culturing a mycelium of Basidiomycete and/or Ascomycete in a medium prepared from a raw material containing algae, or an extract prepared from the cultured product as an active ingredient. Chlorella and/or Spirulina is preferable as the algae, and shiitake mushroom or Ganoderma lucidum is preferable as the Basidiomycete and/or the Ascomycete. The cultured product is preferably collected as an extract obtained by autolysis by an enzyme contained in the mycelium of the Basidiomycete and/or the Ascomycete. The anticancer agent can be added to various kinds of foods and drinks.
