PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial seaweed bed for protecting seaweed from feeding behavior of sea urchin and vegetative fish, the bed superior in durability and stability and facilitating construction to protect the seaweed from causing seawater damage so as to continue growing thick.SOLUTION: An artificial seaweed bed has: substrate holding means for sinking a seaweed growing substrate with substrate floating means 4 mounted thereon in the sea, separating it from the seabed to be held in the sea and sinking in the sea by oneself； and fixing means 9 installed in the bottom of the sea. Also, separately, a fish net is mounted so as to cover and surround the seaweed growing substrate of the artificial seaweed bed and the upper space. The seaweed growing substrate with the substrate floating means 4 mounted thereon and the fixing means 9 are connected with a rope 11 of a diameter range where a sea urchin is hard to climb up, and the seaweed growing substrate is made to sink in the sea and is separated from the seabed to be held in the sea, and thereby the artificial seaweed bed is formed which eliminates an effect of wave, has high stability and may not be deteriorated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4【課題】耐久性と安定性に優れ施工が容易で、海藻が磯焼けを起こさず繁茂し続けるよう、ウニや植食性魚類の摂餌行動から、海藻を防御する人工藻場を提供する。【解決手段】基板浮上手段４を取り付けた海藻育成基板を海中に没し海底から乖離させ海中に保持し、自らも海中に没している基板保持手段と海底に設置した固定手段９を有する人工藻場、また、別途、上記人工藻場の海藻育成基板とその上部空間を覆い囲むように魚網を取り付ける。基板浮上手段４を取り付けた海藻育成基板と固定手段９をウニが登上しにくい直径範囲のロープ１１で接続し海藻育成基板が海中に没し海底から乖離させ海中に保持されることから、波の影響を受けずに安定性が高く劣化しない人工藻場としている。【選択図】図４
