PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial tool allowing an artificial retina to be deformed into a form easily inserted into vitreous body while protecting the artificial retina without damage.SOLUTION: A protection tool protects an artificial retina by sandwiching the artificial retina with first sheets 11b, 11c superimposed on one face of a sheet-like artificial retina 20 and a second sheet 12 superimposed on the other face. The first sheet and second sheet have flexibility such that the first sheet, second sheet, and artificial retina can be round in a cylindrical shape in a state of being superimposed in order. The first sheet includes separation means separating a part of the first sheet and second sheet 12 also includes separation means separating a part of the second sheet.
