A method of obtaining a composition containing one or more embryonic proteins, comprising culturing cells under hypoxic conditions, in a suitable culture medium on a substrate, thereby obtaining a soluble and insoluble composition containing one or more embryonic proteins. The method of claim 1, wherein the culture medium contains serum. The method of claim 1, wherein the culture medium is serum free. The method of claim 1, wherein the hypoxic oxygen conditions comprise 1-5% oxygen.
