PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide photoacoustic wave probes, etc. capable of acquiring subject information for reducing occurrence of artifacts.SOLUTION: An acoustic wave probe comprises: a support member 103 a plurality of acoustic wave transducers 101 mounted on a support face of the support member and driving means for causing an arrangement pattern P of receivable areas of the acoustic wave transducers viewing from a direction intersecting the support face, to reciprocate within a predetermined range. The arrangement pattern P is divided into a plurality of regions along the direction of movement, the receivable areas of the acoustic wave transducers being arranged in each of the plurality of regions in the same pattern when viewed from the intersecting direction.
