A process for making false teeth for patients with existing dentures which firstly scans the existing dentures and makes a 3D copy in polymer. At least some of the teeth are replaced to improve their operation and/or appearance. The improved copy is transferred to an articulator where the bite is adjusted and when the patient is satisfied the improved copy is reproduced by known methods such as casting. The 3D scanning step utilises a modified turntable which suspends the dentures suitably while the camera compiles images. The process reduces the number of patient appointments and generates records from which replacements can be built.
