Provided are a method for matching medical images and a device thereof. The method for matching medical images comprises the following steps of: setting the axis of a probe as a reference axis wherein the axis of the probe is arranged in parallel with the axis of a target object； extracting a first object from a first medial image obtained through the probe； extracting a second object from a second medial image wherein modality of the second medial image is different from modality of the first medial image； and aligning the first object and the second object by using a reference axis, thereby matching the first medial image with the second medial image.의료 영상 정합 방법 및 그 장치를 제공한다. 본 의료 영상 정합 방법은, 대상체의 축과 평행하게 배치된 프로브의 축을 기준축으로 설정하고, 프로브를 통해 획득된 제1 의료 영상으로부터 제1 개체를 추출하며, 제1 의료 영상과 모달리티가 다른 제2 의료 영상으로부터 제2 개체를 추출하고, 기준축을 이용하여 상기 제1 개체와 상기 제2 개체를 정렬시킴으로써, 상기 제1 의료 영상과 상기 제2 의료 영상을 정합한다.
