PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent leakage and to reduce remains of menstrual blood and vaginal discharge on the surface by controlling a diffusion area of bodily fluids.SOLUTION: The sanitary napkin has embossed recesses 20 at least in a region including a bodily fluid discharge part H on a permeable front surface sheet 3 approximately along the longitudinal direction of the sanitary napkin 1 as seen from the top. The embossed recesses 20 have wavelike patterns in which first wavelike patterns 23 and second wavelike patterns 24 are alternately arranged in the lateral direction of the napkin. In the first wavelike pattern 23, projections 21 to one side of the lateral direction of the napkin and projections 22 to the other side are alternately repeated. The second wavelike pattern 24 is a pattern of the first wavelike pattern 23 reversed in the lateral direction of the napkin.
