PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To elongate a life of a belt by improving a contact state of elements and a band member in a belt winding region.SOLUTION: When applying grinding processing to saddle faces of elements (element raw materials 1) after forming the plate-shaped elements constituting a belt which is wound around a pulley of a continuously variable transmission, an arrangement state of a plurality of elements abutting on the pulley in a state that the belt is wound around the pulley is reproduced by the element raw materials 1, a grinding member 11 is push-pressed to the saddle faces 2 of the element raw materials 1 which are in the reproduced arrangement state, the grinding member 1 is made to slide in the winding direction of the belt, and the grinding processing is applied to the saddle faces 2.
