PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an engagement force of a fastening tape to an outer face back sheet without largely changing the designs of the outer face back sheet and the fastening tape.
SOLUTION: This disposable diaper consists of an absorbent body 4, a liquid permeable top sheet 3 covering the surface side of the absorbent body 4, a leakage prevention sheet 6 covering the back face side of the absorbent body, the outer face back sheet 2 provided in the outer face side of the leakage prevention sheet 6 and formed of a nonwoven fabric, and the mechanical joining type fastening tape 10 having hook elements 10B provided in the back side both sides of the diaper when wearing the diaper, the fastening tape 10 is directly engaged with the surface of the outer face back sheet 2 and multiple openings 12 penetrating through the outer face back sheet 2 are provided in the outer face side of the outer face back sheet 2 at least in the engagement range 11 set as the engagement area of the fastening tape 10.
