A method for manufacturing a sugar-containing liquid, said method comprising a step for mixing a starting material liquid with an aqueous hop extract; a sugar-containing liquid obtained by the manufacturing method; and a beer taste beverage using the sugar-containing liquid. The manufacturing method according to the present invention, whereby a saccharified liquid having a high polyphenol concentration is prepared at an excellent productivity, can provide a beer taste beverage having a rich body taste imparted thereto. In the manufacturing method according to the present invention, moreover, the production amount of hop cake is reduced and thus the loss in the obtained sugar-containing liquid is reduced, which contributes to the improvement in the productivity.
