PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a method for producing a scaly fine powder-containing dispersion which is used as a raw material of a coating material which can provide a leafing effect which is not affected excessively by a solvent used and a method for producing a scaly fine powder-containing gel or a scaly fine powder-containing coating by using said production method.SOLUTION: The method for producing a scaly fine powder-containing dispersion comprises: a lamination step of obtaining a laminated body by laminating a release layer containing a leafing agent having a leafing function and a metal layer on a substrate film which is a polymer film a peeling step of peeling the metal layer from the laminated body using a solvent and a pulverization step of pulverizing the metal layer in the solvent to obtain scaly fine powder and obtaining a dispersion of the scaly fine powder.
