PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for collecting and treating rice stubs, by which the rice stubs absorbing a pollution source can be efficiently collected by a simple method, and the soil states of a paddy field before and after collection of the rice stubs are not changed.SOLUTION: The rice stubs are collected and treated by carrying out a step for digging up the rice stubs, a step for collecting the rice stubs, a step for fixing the rice stubs to a cleaning table, and a step for cleaning the rice stubs on the cleaning table by jetting air flow or water flow from the front direction of roots. Preferably, in the collection step, the soil surrounding the root is roughly removed. The soil attached to the collected rice stubs is preferably dried.
