PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for isolating and growing mesenchymal stem cells from umbilical cord blood (UCB).SOLUTION: A method of isolating mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) comprises: (a) collecting a sample (b) seeding the sample on an extracellular matrix (ECM)-precoated culture dish and (c) isolating the MSCs.
