The method of the invention allows a good smoothing of the hair, reducing the volume and frizz effect of the hair in a sustainable manner. La présente invention a pour objet un procédé de traitement des cheveux comprenant l'application sur les cheveux d'une composition hydroalcoolique comprenant au moins 5 % d'au moins un alcool en C1-C7 et au moins un mono acide organique, suivie d'une étape de lissage/défrisage au moyen d'un fer de lissage à une température d'au moins 100°C. Le procédé de l'invention permet un bon lissage des cheveux, en réduisant le volume et l'effet de frisottis des cheveux de façon durable.
