PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend, in a device for examining a lump of a living body, an area which can be inspected by one-time pressure contact with a living body surface without increasing the number of probes.SOLUTION: The device for examining a lump of a living body includes a casing unit having an outer shape such that an examiner can hold it by hand, the casing unit including a protective glass provided on an inspection surface thereof and a display unit provided on the outer surface opposite to the inspection surface to display a two-dimensional hardness distribution. The top of an internal structural unit 13 housed in the casing unit is composed of a protective glass 14, and an element mount substrate 30 on which probe elements 32 are two-dimensionally aligned and arranged is disposed with a gap against the protective glass 14.
