PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dental alginate impression material, in which a water soluble polymer is mixed in a curing agent paste, and using the mechanism, that gel strength increases synergistically by mixing the water soluble polymer with a base agent paste, the gel strength after curing becomes suitable, and the impression surface of a cured product obtained after acquiring impression has lubricity and the cured product obtained has an excellent size stability and well adheres to a tray for impression.SOLUTION: The dental alginate impression material is composed of a water-based curing agent paste and a water-based base agent paste. The curing agent paste contains calcium sulfate, a water soluble polymer which does not go through gelling with calcium sulfate, a filler and water.
