The present invention provides a method for producing a water absorbing agent which excels in water absorption properties. In detail, the present invention provides a method for the production of a water absorbing agent, comprising a) a step of mixing a water absorbing resin, water, and a mixing aid without adding a water-soluble radical polymerization initiator and an ethylenically unsaturated monomer and b) a step of irradiating the resultant mixture with ultraviolet rays while keeping the mixture with flowed state.Linvention concerne un procédé de production dun agent absorbant leau, lequel possède dexcellentes propriétés dabsorption de leau. Plus spécifiquement, linvention concerne un procédé de production dun agent absorbant leau, ce procédé comprenant a) une étape de mélange dune résine absorbant leau, deau et dun élément daide au mélange sans adjonction dun initiateur de polymérisation de radical soluble dans leau et dun monomère éthylénique insaturé et b) une étape dirradiation du mélange résultant avec des rayons ultraviolets tout en conservant le mélange dans un état fluide.
