Accordance with a program pacing parameters including a non-zero delay ventricle, cardiac resynchronization therapy is delivered to the heart using a bipolar electrode configuration extended. Extended bipolar electrode arrangement comprises a left ventricular electrode defining the cathode of the extended bipolar electrode configuration, and a right ventricular electrode defining the anode of the extended bipolar electrode configuration. Pace pulse is delivered to the left ventricular electrode.
