PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus for measurement which can display a distance up to a subject by measuring at a high speed without using a high-speed CPU and a program for an endoscope.

SOLUTION: When an aiming 71 showing a distance measuring point is displayed in considered coordinates on the observation image of the subject, the observation image is acquired using the center of the aiming 71 as the distance measuring point, and the object distance of the subject in the distance measuring point is calculated by a principle of triangulation, about a left image, only the image in the vicinity of the distance measuring point is fetched, and about a right image, the only image around an epipola line 77 is fetched. Thus, fetching time and the time required for matching processing are considerably shortened by fetching the only image portion required for distance measurement and performing matching calculation only using the image of a portion required for the distance measurement.
