PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a medium for cultivating plants in a light weight and eliminate or reduce impurities and unnecessary materials from the medium for cultivating the plants, and also contain and maintain water required by the plants in a period from the beginning to the end of cultivation of the plants. SOLUTION: A cultivation chamber 7 of a cultivation box 1 is disposed with culture medium 10 obtained by gelatinizing natural pulp with water and the culture medium 10 is planted with seeds of pansy seedlings 11 as a bud vegetable. The culture medium 10 is arranged so that the surface becomes a flat and horizontal surface, and contains and maintains the water required by the pansy seedlings 11 during the beginning and the end of the cultivation of pansy seedlings 11, e.g. for one week.
