This procedure involves taking hold of a block of earth, in a lifting/grabbing device, by pushing in the lifting elements (1 to 12), from the upper surface of the block to the lower surface, to form the block of earth around the plant. The block of earth is then lifted by means of the lifting elements and relocated to the required spot for planting again. The lifting elements are then withdrawn from the block, to leave the plant securely located in its required position. The lifting elements insertion and withdrawal of the lifting elements is carried out in at least two successive phases, each affecting separate parts or groups of the lifting elements.
