PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorber producing method stably and continuously producing the absorbers of a fixed shape by solving peculiar problems when producing the absorber by scattering and supplying a fiber material toward a rotary drum and accumulating it, and to provide a production device suitably used for the absorber producing method.
SOLUTION: In the absorber producing method, the absorber is produced by: determining whether an accumulated body before scraping is accumulated over a rotary drum outer peripheral surface or a determination height set from there through a first sensor obtaining the recess/projection information of the accumulated body by measuring the height difference from the rotary drum outer peripheral surface of the scraped surface of the accumulated body after scraping through a second sensor and having a fiber supply control part control the supply amount of the fiber material through a fiber supply part so as to be a supply appropriate amount on the basis of the determined result of the accumulated body acquired through the first sensor and the recess/projection information of the accumulated body acquired through the second sensor.
