PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an absorbent, in which pulp fibers and synthetic fibers are mixed in a predetermined ratio, precisely and efficiently in a designed mixing ratio.

SOLUTION: The apparatus 30 for manufacturing the absorbent comprises: a first loosening machine 31 for loosening veil-like synthetic fibers 15 a first feed path 32 for feeding the synthetic fibers and a feed fan 33 provided in the middle a constant amount feeder 34 for tentatively storing the synthetic fibers fed through the first feed path 32 and feeding them by a constant amount each a second feed path 35 for feeding the synthetic fibers from the constant amount feeder 34, a feed fan 36 provided in the middle and a damper 37 for adjusting a feed amount a second loosening machine 38 for loosening a supplied pulp fiber sheet 14 and mixing the synthetic fibers fed through the second feed path 35 a supply casing 39 for carrying the mixed fibers on an air stream and a laminating machine 40 for laminating the mixed fibers fed through the supply casing 39.
