PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which hardly causes returning of a liquid to a surface sheet side when a body fluid is repeatedly excreted in spite of a thin absorber.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 in the invention includes an absorber 4 having an absorbent core 41 having a longitudinal direction X and a lateral direction Y between a surface sheet 2 and a back surface sheet 3. The absorbent core 41 includes: a diffusion layer 41K which is positioned on a side closest to a non-skin-facing surface side for forming a non-skin-facing surface a polymer layer 41P arranged to be adjacent to a skin-facing surface side of the diffusion layer 41K and a fiber layer 41S arranged on a skin-facing surface side of the polymer layer 41P. The content of a water absorptive polymer 43 in the polymer layer 41 is greater than those of the other layers.
