The invention relates to an orthosis comprising a device for holding the knee cap (1), which is pressed against the knee by a part consisting of an elastic material surrounding the knee. The holding device comprises: an annular body (5) having a central oval opening (6) for receiving the knee cap and separate supporting bodies (10) that protrude outwardly from the periphery of the body, two adjacent supporting bodies being separated by a gap (11) when the holding device is in a non-constrained state. The holding device is substantially flat in the non-constrained state and non-deformable in this plane (P1). It is designed so as to be able to be deformed into a domed position, hugging the shape of the bent knee.
