The invention relates to a needle for applying neuraxial anaesthesia, where said needle can act as both a spinal needle and an epidural needle, comprising: a first handle (6) holding a first cannula (7), said first handle (6) being covered, on the free end thereof, by a mandrel (8), such that the first handle (6) comprises, in an upper central part, a semi-spherical magnifying glass (9) which amplifies the field of vision, allowing the detection of the outflow of cerebrospinal liquid at a higher resolution, and a rear part of the mandrel (8) has a rounded shape so as to allow a better fit in the hand, and a slight upward incline to allow the user to pick the needle (1) up from a working table with just one hand. The ergonomic structure allows the needle to be guided with absolute precision and orientation over the puncture zone of the patient.
