The present invention relates to a novel use of a Musca domestica L., and more particularly, to a composition for preventing or treating a metabolic disease, the composition containing, as an active ingredient, an extract of the Musca domestica L. having ingested sulfur, to a method for preparing the composition, and to a functional food for health using the composition. The extract of the Musca domestica L. having ingested sulfur of the present invention, when administered to an animal model having an induced obesity, has an effect of decreasing blood lipids, and when administered to an animal model injected with alcohol, was confirmed to have an effect of protection against liver damage.
