PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article in which a body fluid is made to shift easily to an absorber while keeping good touch.SOLUTION: Embossments 10 are provided in a liquid permeable surface sheet 3 and a second sheet 5 to define an elliptic first defining region 11 that is long in a longitudinal direction of a napkin, and the first defining regions 11 are arranged in a grid shape to be adjacent to each other along the longitudinal direction and a width direction of the napkin so that a second defining region 12 is defined in an intermediate part having four corners that are enclosed by the adjacent first defining regions 11, 11. In the liquid permeable surface sheet 3, a first convex part 13 which is in the form of a semi-elliptical body and bulges to a skin side is formed in the first defining region 11, and a second convex part 14 which is in the form of a quadrangular pyramid body and bulges to the skin side is formed in the second defining region 12.
