PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide mesalazin-containing sustained-release tablets having enough hardness to withstand the production process and the distribution and exhibiting good sustained-release tendency.SOLUTION: The sustained-release tablets are such that the content of the active ingredient (mesalazin) per tablet is 60 wt.% or greater and comprise (a) granules obtained by coating granules containing the active ingredient (mesalazin) and a binder (povidone) with a sustained-release base (ethyl cellulose), (b) crystalline cellulose, (c) dry aluminum hydroxide gel or magnesium oxide, and (d) a lubricant (e.g. talc, magnesium stearate).
