An X-ray diagnostic apparatus according to an embodiment includes an X-ray tube, an X-ray detector, an X-ray tube moving mechanism, and an X-ray tube tilting mechanism. The X-ray tube emits X-rays. The X-ray detector detects X-rays emitted by the X-ray tube. The X-ray tube moving mechanism moves the X-ray tube relatively parallel to the top plate on which the subject is placed. The X-ray tube tilting mechanism changes the X-ray tube while changing the oblique angle of the X-ray tube in at least one of a range before and after a range in which the X-ray tube is translated by the X-ray tube moving mechanism.
