PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily exchange a brake shoe, relating to a spool brake device in which the brake shoe swings.SOLUTION: A spool brake device 23 of a double bearing reel 10 performs braking by centrifugal force a spool 14 rotatably attached to a reel body 1. The spool brake device 23 includes at least one brake shoe 64 for braking the spool 14, a rotary member 62, and a brake drum 66. The rotary member 62 rotates by being interlocked with rotation of the spool 14. The rotary member 62 includes a swing shaft part 63c and a fixed part 63d. The swing shaft part 63c supports the brake shoe 64 to allow swinging and movement in the swinging shaft direction. The fixed part 63d engages with the brake shoe 64, to fix the brake shoe 64 not to allow swinging. A tapered surface 66a of the brake drum 66 can contact to the brake shoe 64 which swings.【課題】ブレーキシューが揺動するスプール制動装置において、ブレーキシューを容易に交換できるようにする。【解決手段】本両軸受リール１０のスプール制動装置２３は、リール本体１に回転自在に装着されたスプール１４を遠心力により制動する。このスプール制動装置２３は、スプール１４を制動するための少なくとも１つのブレーキシュー６４と、回転部材６２と、ブレーキドラム６６とを、備えている。回転部材６２は、スプール１４の回転に連動して回転する。回転部材６２は、揺動軸部６３ｃと、固定部６３ｄとを、有している。揺動軸部６３ｃは、ブレーキシュー６４を揺動可能且つ揺動軸方向に移動可能に支持する。固定部６３ｄは、ブレーキシュー６４に係合し、ブレーキシュー６４を揺動不能に固定する。ブレーキドラム６６のテーパ面６６ａは、揺動するブレーキシュー６４に接触可能である。【選択図】図１１
