The present invention relates to a head immobilization system for immobilizing a patient's head in a supine position of the patient, the system comprising: - a support rail structure (1) adapted to be coupled to a patient rest (2) and extending at least on both lateral sides of the patient's head, - a mask frame (3) adapted to be coupled to at least one deformable upper mask sheet (4), wherein the mask frame (3) is releasably connected to the support rail structure (1) via a first interface section (5) and a second interface section (6), with at least two pins (7) protruding from the first interface section (5) in a first direction (U), and at least two pin-receptions (8) provided at the second interface section (6), wherein each one of the pin-receptions (8) receives one of the pins (7), and - a catch-mechanism (9) for each pin-reception (8) and each corresponding pin (7), which allows the pin (7) to be pushed further into the pin-reception (8) in the first direction (U), but which interlocks in case of an attempted withdrawal of the pin (7) from the pin-reception (8) in a second, opposite direction (D).La présente invention concerne un appui-tête (10) pour un système d'immobilisation (100) pour immobiliser au moins une partie d'un patient (11).
