The present invention relates to a composition for sperm cryopreservation, including a low density lipoprotein (LDL) and an antioxidant and to a method for increasing activity of cryopreserved sperms, which comprises the steps of treating sperms with the composition and cryopreserving the sperms. The composition for sperm cryopreservation of the present invention is used to minimize damages on sperms during freezing and thawing of the sperms of livestock, and thus can be widely used in improvement of the breed of livestock.본 발명은 저밀도 지질단백질(LDL)과 항산화제를 포함하는 정자의 동결보존용 조성물 및 조성물을 정자에 처리하고, 이를 동결보존하는 단계를 포함하는 동결보존된 정자의 활성을 향상시키는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 정자 동결보존용 조성물을 이용하면, 가축의 정자를 동결 및 융해시킬 경우, 정자의 손상을 최소화 할 수 있으므로, 가축의 품종개량에 널리 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
