PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which has a groove formed on the skin contact side by compressing a sheet such as a surface sheet and an absorber and is excellent to form the groove because the surface sheet and the like in the groove is suppressed from floating up and a method for producing the same.
SOLUTION: The absorber 4 includes a plurality of bulges 41 and 42 bulged on the skin contact side at the center in the width direction. The plurality of the bulges 41 and 42 are disposed to have a determined interval between them in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article 1, and the surface sheet 2 and the absorber 4 are compressed to form an intermediate groove 8b which extends in the width direction orthogonally crossing the longitudinal direction, between the bulges 41 and 42 adjoining to each other in the longitudinal direction. A part 11c of a core wrap sheet 11 which is positioned between the bulges 41 and 42 adjoining to each other in the longitudinal direction, is loaded with a lowered tensile strength in the longitudinal direction, compared with the other parts of the core wrap sheet 11.
