PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which keeps bulkiness by unevenness of a surface sheet in the vicinity of a leakage prevention groove (a compressed groove) and achieves both excellent performance of preventing twists and lateral leakage of a liquid by the leakage prevention groove and excellent wearing feeling such as soft texture performance and dry feeling by the surface sheet.SOLUTION: A surface sheet 1 includes an uneven surface that does not involve an embossment part and a hollow part on a skin side surface and an absorber side surface, and at least a pair of right and left leakage prevention grooves 6 partially dented from the surface sheet to an absorber 3 are arranged on the surface sheet. The leakage prevention groove is configured to have a compressed part where the surface sheet and the absorber are dented in an integrally compressed state.
