PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article retaining plasticity of an absorber, and having desired recessed/projecting shapes formed on the cover sheet and the absorber.SOLUTION: An absorbent article manufacturing apparatus for applying a recessed/projecting shape to a cover sheet 5 and bringing it into close contact with a surface of an absorber 4 formed into the recessed/projecting shape, includes: travel devices 31-33 traveling absorbers 4 at a prescribed speed； a cover sheet supply device 20A for supplying a cover sheet 5 so as to be overlapped on a traveling absorber 4； and a shape application device 20B applying a shape along the recessed/projecting shape to the cover sheet traveling with it overlapped on the surface side, and bringing it into a close contact with the surface.
