An apparatus (1) for manufacturing an absorbent (A) for an absorbent article is provided with: a freely rotating suction drum (11), the circumferential surface (11S) of which is equipped with pattern plates (13) having a shape that is complementary to the outer shape of the absorbent and in which a pattern hole (13H) that passes through in the thickness direction is formed, and with molding portions (15), which are formed in the pattern holes of the pattern plates and are for forming absorbent by accumulating the material of the absorbent； and a supply device (21), which is provided with a cover duct (23) covering a portion of the circumferential surface of the suction drum and supplies the material for the absorbent to the molding portions through the cover duct. This apparatus is provided with an air-jetting mechanism comprising jetting ports (13O) and the jetting ports rotate with rotation of the suction drum and jet air from the pattern plates and/or the molding portions toward the internal space (S) of the cover duct.
