PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a nitrogen gas adsorbent, which does not require a step of reducing copper ion by heating under reduced pressure and to provide a nitrogen gas adsorbent manufactured by the manufacturing method.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a nitrogen gas adsorbent comprises: a step of immersing a high-silica zeolite into a monovalent copper ion solution to hold a monovalent copper ion in the high-silica zeolite and a step of drying the high-silica zeolite holding the monovalent copper ion. The high-silica zeolite is a synthetic zeolite from which Al is subject to dealuminization in a crystal skeleton to increase Si/Al (silica-alumina ratio). The nitrogen adsorbent uses the high-silica zeolite having a silica-alumina ratio of 5 or more, preferably 10 or more. In the method for manufacturing a nitrogen gas adsorbent, the monovalent copper ion solution is a solution comprising a salt composed of the monovalent copper ion such as copper(I) chloride, copper(I) nitrate, copper(I) sulfate, copper(I) acetate.
